Area: This small town is located on the hills west of the Cascina rivers, between the Valdera and the crevice of Collesalvetti, in a highly agricultural territory in which wine and fruit growing are an important source of income. The centre contains the church of Madonna delle Neve with works by Della Robbia, as well as certain notable ruins of medieval fortifications. 18th and 19th century buildings complete the particular look of this ancient village. The principle celebrations are, in September, the Palio delle Contrade di Pergnano and the musical festivals of Cevoli as well as the Sagra of cherries, a village fete which takes place May-June. |
