The southwestern part of Tuscany is known as the MAREMMA. The area covers 130 km of coast in the north (Alta Maremma) also the hills of the Colline Metallifere, with the former center of a mining industry, Massa Marittima. In the south it reaches to the famous peninsula Monte Argentario and in the west to the Mount Amiata, the highest mountain of Tuscany.
