GARFAGNANA
The river Serchio grows in the Apuan Alpes, famous for the high quality limestone exported all over the world; its extraction is consequently the most profitable and typical activity. Following the Serchio you will get to the GARFAGNANA, that looks like a harsh mountain landscape, but it leaves room for broad valleys. It is beautiful in every season and if in winter it is at its most spectacular, with the snow-covered peaks, in summer it suddenly bursts into bloom.
