Pistoia is a nice and noble art town, less busy than Florence, probably because visited little for as its treasures would deserve. It is a town with an important past and is rich in monuments like the San Zeno Cathedral, the Torre Campanaria, built in the XII century, the Palazza del Podestà , the Ospedale del Ceppo and the churches of S. Maria delle Grazie, S. Giovanni Fuoricivitas and S. Pietro Maggiore. Pistoia is in a strategic position between Florence and Lucca, at the foot of the highest Tuscan mountains: for that reason we suggest to visit the town of Serravalle Pistoiese, and the spa town Montecatini Terme, with its beautiful art deco palaces and hotels. Leave the elegant town at your back and follow the road that gets to Montecatini Alto, a mediaeval hamlet from which one can enjoy a great view of the Valdinievole. Right between Montecatini and Pescia, in the peace and quiet of the countryside, surrounded by hills there is the village of Baggiano Castello and Uzzano.
